About Sword of the Spirit Church Hurst, TX

In 2003, Apostle Tyrone Howell, Jr., established Sword of the Spirit Church in Hurst, TX, as his answer to a call to begin teaching and preaching the Word of God. The great-grandson of Methodist and Baptist pastors, he picked up the family call in 1999. At that time, he was licensed and ordained by Bishop Willie J. Hilton of Friendship Baptist Church while living in Virginia. However, the call took him to Texas in 2000. He left behind all his friends and family to make the move, and established his new church in Hurst, TX..

These days, Sword of the Spirit operates as an Apostolic mission, which it has been since its founding. The goal of the church is helping people who left religion to return to the fold and rediscover their faith. It also draws in people around the world who have not yet been saved by the Word of God. To accomplish these goals, the organization maintains several services and ministries that empower pastors, apostles, and other disciples through the Word of God, and lift people up emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually.
